Given a rare start this season and destined to end his career at Chelsea Football Club, come the end of the month, after 22 years with the club, John Terry had a mixed game.

Leading from the front, Terry had a fairy-tale start to the game when he opened the scoring, however, he was culpable for the equaliser when he got in a tangle with Nathaniel Chalobah.

But what we saw was the old John Terry, urging his team-mates on with his never-say-die attitude.

At 36-years-old though, John has accepted that his Chelsea playing career is coming to an end, but it seems that despite all the talk of continuing his career elsewhere, John could decide to hang up his boots, with John quoted in the media as having remarked,

“I said I wanted to play regular football while I can but I have still not ruled out Sunday being my last game and retiring.

“It depends if the right offer comes along. I will sit and consider it with my family, whether that`s here, abroad or whatever.

“But, genuinely, I have not made any decisions yet. I`m evaluating all my options at the moment.”

However, Antonio Conte isn`t convinced, our boss is of the opinion that John will carry on playing, remarking to the media,

“John wants to continue to play.

“Chelsea will always be his home because John is a great man and a great player and legend for Chelsea – and in future for the team he decides to play for. For us, this is a big loss next season.”

It is, John may not have played on many occasion but his motivational skills and man-management behind the scenes have been invaluable to Conte in the pursuit of the Premier League crown.

  • I’d love to know why Sky are showing a meaningless Man Utd (reserve) game tonight yet are not showing the Champions last home game where the Premier League trophy is being presented and is John Terry’s last appearance at Stamford Bridge as a Chelsea player. They certainly never treated Steven Gerrard like that. And when was the last time Sky didn’t show the Champion’s home game?

  • Farewell to a true legend, he impressed me this season for not whining or moaning in fact he said that the boys were doing so well without him he didn’t want to play if it disturb the momentum. That for me was classy and shows his commitment and loyalty if we get more players like him it would be super! Hopefully he won’t pull a Lampard on us and play for an English team I like Lamps a lot but forcing to play an extra season at City was a bad move for me but he remains a legend!

  • Cobham probably because Rupert Murdoch owns large stocks in SKY and Manc TV . I could not agree more, not showing the champions is disgraceful, luckily for us in the US all 10 games are being shown across all the networks , the main two NBC Channels have both Mancs games and Chelsea are relegated to the Scy Fy Channel .
