Following the revelation that inferred that there would be no additions to the Chelsea squad when the January transfer window opens, we used our poll to ask a very intriguing question.
With the pundits inferring that Chelsea lacked a world-class striker to maintain a challenge for the Premier League title, we simply asked whether you believed that, come January, Chelsea needed to buy a striker.
We gave you three options to choose from:
• Yes, it’s essential.
• Yes, it would be nice.
And
• No, we can cope with those we have.
The results are now available for your perusal.
The overwhelming verdict, according to 77% of those that voted, was that ‘it was essential’ to bring a top-notch striker to the club.
A further 16% went for the, ‘it would be nice option’, whilst only 7% opted for the ‘we can cope with those we have’ option.
Little did we know that a certain Alvaro Morata was going to hit a run of form that suggests he could be the very man for the job. Although some might say that the miss in the dying seconds when the Spaniard tried to chip the goalkeeper when he was clean through, was indicative of the pundits belief we do lack a world-class striker.
