As speculations surrounding the future of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku continue to sell papers locally and internationally with some lazy-arsed journos duly taking advantage of the deafening silence coming out of Chelsea to indiscriminately smile to the bank on end, it would seem the club have had enough with an official word finally coming through from no less an authority than Jose Mourinho no.2, Steve Holland.

The assistant first-team coach has put paid to all grey areas concerning Lukaku as he insists the 21-year-old big Belgian will link up with the squad for their two-week pre-season training camp across Europe next week.

Holland said: “The plan is that he will join up with us at some stage during the second week when we are in Holland.”

Asked whether he won`t be going anywhere until then, Holland replied: “That`s the situation as I understand it.”

Meanwhile, the misunderstood prodigy took time to also drop a hint that his immediate future lies in SW6 when he changed his Twitter biography to say he was a Chelsea player, which previously had no mention of Chelsea Football Club therein.

So that is simply that.

And for all those pathological critics and cynics who find it impossible to log unto a Chelsea forum(sure you know who you are) without saying something unnecessarily untoward about the youngster who, for all intents and purposes, was only trying to secure his future, albeit publicly, this seems the perfect time to shut up, isn’t it?!
