As Chelsea reach player number seventeen going to another club.

The announcement, yesterday afternoon, that Izzy Brown was joining Brighton and Hove Albion on a season-long loan, meant that with over a month until the summer transfer window closes, Chelsea have already let a staggering 17 players go out on loan for next season.

By the time the summer transfer window closes, we fully expect, like was the case last season, the figure to be somewhere near the thirty mark.

Currently, when you dissect the destinations of the 17 players who have gone on loan you find:

? Five will be playing in the English Premier League

? Five in the English Football League

? Six in leagues on mainland Europe

? One in the National League

All are of the opinion that a loan spell away will broaden their horizons and enhance their football knowledge whilst also getting much-needed regular first-team football.

Many will be hoping that when their loan-spells end, they could be part of the Chelsea first-team squad next season.

A few will realise that their age they`ve attained means that getting that Chelsea breakthrough is a fast disappearing dream.

One maybe two, will know that Chelsea is their destiny.

I`ll leave you to work out just which of the 17 fall into which category!
