The Perfect Exit Route Opens Up For Disappointing Chelsea Midfielder

|

Back in the summer of 2018, the signing of Mateo Kovacic was seen as something of a coup.

The 24-year-old midfielder had kind of lost his way at Real Madrid and a move to Chelsea was seen as a chance for the player to rediscover the form that made him one of the most talked about young talents not that long ago.

However, it’s fair to say, and being brutally honest, Kovacic has failed to hit the required standard expected of a Chelsea footballer.

Therefore, I’m probably not alone when I say that I wouldn’t be too bothered if his services were dispensed with come to the end of the season.

Ironically, despite what I’d classify as a poor season, there are potential suitors will to give the player another chance.

The red-top publication, the Sun, is championing the suggestion that the Russian side, Zenit St Petersburg, are keen to sign the player.

Now I’m not knocking the standard of Russian football but a move to that part of the world might be an ideal scenario for Kovacic.
