The announcement yesterday that Roberto Di Matteo had rejoined Chelsea Football Club as the assistant to Andre Villas-Boas was, it`s fair to say, greeted with universal approval from the Vital Chelsea membership.

But one thing leaves me a little perplexed.

Whilst the press conference given by Andre Villas-Boas was, undoubtedly, top-notch and the coverage given by Chelsea TV was first class, something wasn`t quite right.

Amongst the many press shots shown on Chelsea TV was one of Andre`s team posing on the Stamford Bridge pitch, all appeared to be enjoying the limelight and all appeared at ease with the situation.

But, I`m struggling to understand, on such a monumental day, why there was no interview with Roberto Di Matteo.

Although Andre told us that he believed Roberto was ideal for the job having witnessed the Swiss born Italian do his coaching qualifications, at Cobham, whilst he was here in his first spell, I`m sure I`m not alone in wanting to hear what Roberto Di Matteo had to say about his return to Stamford Bridge, or am I just being a little impatient and all will be revealed in the fullness of time?
