Was it really five years ago today?

Apparently so!

As Chelsea prepare to face Arsenal, in the semi-final second leg of the Carabao (League Cup), in a game they hope will lead to a Wembley appearance, Chelsea had similar aspirations five years ago.

With the competition then known as the Capital One Cup, Chelsea were drawn to play Swansea City, in the two-legged semi-final.

As it turns out, Chelsea lost the first-leg, at the Liberty Stadium 2-0.

But the game will be remembered for the strangest of incidents which resulted in a red card for Eden Hazard.

With Chelsea not having the best of nights and with frustration levels increasing, when the ball rolled out of play, behind the goal, Eden tried to retrieve it.

However, the ball-boy decided that he wasn`t going to play fair and decided to waste time.

In the ensuing melee, the ball-boy fell on the ball and in trying to genuinely trying to retrieve it, Eden was adjudged to have kicked the portly youngster as he tried to access the ball that was lodged between his belly and the grass.

The referee obviously thought Eden had done it deliberately and promptly waved a red card in the direction of the Belgian.

Definitely, one of the strangest red card decisions I can recall seeing!
