Apparently the young lad wants to join us as he knows that Andre Villas-Boas plays the kind of football that will be suitable for him.

I support any move for this young lad because he is cheaper than Luka Modric and that he has shown he has what it takes to be the best in that position. I hope the club will take note of the plea that he has made.

Thiago, 20, has made it clear that Stamford Bridge is his destination of choice if Barca boss Pep Guardiola can’t guarantee him regular first-team football with a source commenting about a possible move

‘Thiago is frustrated because his path to the first-team is blocked by Xavi and Andres Iniesta.

‘His minutes on the pitch are limited while they continue to pull the strings in midfield, and Chelsea is his favoured destination if he decides to leave.

‘He is also worried about the possible arrival of Cesc Fabregas, because that would put him further down the pecking order.

‘It is another factor that has caused him to think about his future. Thiago believes that the style of football Villas-Boas will bring to Chelsea would suit him perfectly.

‘And he will be an attractive prospect for Villas-Boas, who will take note of Thiago’s desire to play for him.’

However the waters regarding a possible transfer are very muddy.

Barcelona are insisting that he may form part of the deal to bring Fabregas to Barcelona whilst Manchester United have, according to one tabloid source, registered a £15 million bid to bring the player to Old Trafford.

Another key factor is that Barcelona are reluctant to cut their ties with the lad and want a buy-back clause inserted in his contract.
