Following our recent run of poor form, whereby four games have yielded just one win and the performances have not been up to scratch, much has been written about just where on the pitch Maurizio Sarri chooses to play N’Golo Kante.
Kante, a World Cup winner with France and a player who won consecutive Premier League titles with Leicester City and then Chelsea, is renowned as the best player of his kind when it comes to playing in that position just in front of the back-four.
However, since Sarri took charge, the Italian has deemed Kante as not technical enough for that role and prefers to play his summer signing, Jorginho, in that position.
Kante, therefore, has been used in a right-sided midfield role, a role in which he doesn’t have the same impact on games.
Aware of the ongoing situation, here at Vital Chelsea, we used our poll facility to gauge your views on just where Kante should be deployed.
For the first time in my thirteen plus years as the editor of this site, the votes cast were all for the same option with 100% of the votes pleading for Sarri to play Kante in his preferred position of just in front of the back four.
But are you listening Mr Sarri?
