The ridiculous amount being asked for players by their respective clubs is very worrying and makes any sensible person wonder if there will ever be a stop to this trend.

Our dear club cannot be absolved of any blame having played an active part in paying these outrageous prices.

How much is a player really worth?

How is the price of a player determined?

Could these prices ever be justified?

Zamparini has come out to say that Pastore is worth 50M Euro even more than Sanchez is worth and he expects any interested party to pay that much. But it seems his statement was directed towards Chelsea as he also seems concerned that the appointment of Villa-Boas as manager might change our interest. Santos wants £45M for Neymar to mention just a few of the outrageously priced players being linked to Chelsea.

It seems like any above average player with huge price tag in the market is wanted by Chelsea. Three clubs, I think are the culprits of the increasing players valuation in the last 3 years and those clubs are Chelsea, Real Madrid and the new big spenders, Man City.

Think for a moment this scenario, Chelsea coming out with a clear message that we will not be buying any players in this transfer market and in the next one in January.

Does anyone think the over inflated price tags on all these players being touted by their respective agents and clubs will drop dramatically?

I think so!

Any thoughts?
