And he`s vowed to fight for a first team place.

Back in the days when the January transfer window was open, there were rumours doing the rounds that Bertrand Traore was being touted around in order to find the youngster regular football on a loan spell.

As we all know, no such move materialized and it has now been confirmed, by Guus Hiddink, Traore opted to stay at Stamford Bridge to fight for a first team place.

The youngster scored his first Premier League goal in the recent 5-0 drubbing of Newcastle United and could feature in our FA Cup clash against Manchester City today.

Talking about his young starlet, Guus Hiddink had this to say,

“Traore has improved tremendously. He was thinking about going on loan but was desperate to stay.

“I don`t have any doubts about bringing him on when the pressure is on.

“But even when he`s not playing, he is very optimistic, he`s always smiling, whether he`s playing or not.”

The goal he scored against Newcastle, whereby he slipped his marker to turn the ball in at the near post, showed he has the predatory instincts needed to succeed, I`ve a feeling Bertrand Traore is a name we`ll be hearing a lot more of in the coming years.
