Following Chelsea`s disastrous showing at the weekend, some of the players have been having their say on proceedings.

Whilst it could be construed as just paying lip service to what can only be described as poor performance, you`d hope the players feel the pain of defeat like the supporters do. Captain Cesar Azpilicueta genuinely appears to care, he took to Twitter to convey his post-match thoughts

Eden Hazard also spoke after the game, he looked decidedly fed up following his substitution. He refusal to acknowledge his manager a telling sign of all not being well. According to ESPN who quote Hazard, he touched the ball just 31 times in his 89 minutes of play.

‘I had the feeling that I’d ran, but that I hadn’t played a game of football, that’s a pity. We could have played on for three hours, but I wouldn’t touch the ball. It only went better at the end of the game.

When the manager decides to play me as a false nine, I try to do my best, but it was complicated with their pressing. When we had the ball, we were immediately surrounded by 3-4 players. We should have made better decisions when we had it too.’

Clearly something is amiss at Chelsea FC….again. If Antonio Conte’s legacy is one Premier League title and chasing the tricky Belgian wing wizard out of the club, he’ll not go down as one of Roman Abramovich’s best appointments amongst the faithful. The clubs hierarchy can only take so much blame at some point a manager has to manage.
