Unfortunately, For Chelsea, The Inevitable Is About To Happen

I’ve awoken to the news this morning that I always thought would one day happen but deep down I hoped not for a couple of years yet.

Regular visitors to Vital Chelsea will have followed our ongoing coverage of whether our Belgian international, Eden Hazard, will remain at the club once the 2018 / 2019 season ends.

The 28-year-old has, previously, been very coy about his long-term plans.

However, this morning, several news sources, including the Telegraph, are reporting that Eden has finally made his mind up with regards to his future.

Our referenced source is of the opinion that Eden, as many suspected, is set to leave Stamford Bridge and join the Spanish giants of Real Madrid.

Another news source, the red-top publication, the Mirror, goes a step further and is championing the inference that Real Madrid have every confidence that the jewel in our crown will put pen-to-paper on a contract at the Bernabeu and are prepared to pay a transfer fee of £100 million.

If, as I suspect, there are solid foundations behind these latest rumours, it is a sad day for all Chelsea supporters, but, with a feeling of inevitability about the whole shenanigans, perhaps the best ploy is to simply accept it and admire the player, in action, for the remainder of the season.

Hopefully, Eden will leave our neck of the woods having helped put another piece of silverware in the trophy cabinet.
