United v Chelsea Poll Roundup

After yesterday`s defeat up at Old Trafford, we have to reluctantly round up the matchday polls. It`s never a great job having seen the team lose.

Twenty-four hours prior to the game, the first question asked who we thought, or more likely, would like to win. Of course, the answer that came out on top was Chelsea to win! with 80% of the cast votes going for the away team. Unlike yesterday United to win! came in second place with 16%, leaving the remaining 4% plumping for A draw!

In terms of first goal scorer, there couldn`t have been many takers for this one. Going into the game one player has stood out in recent games. Some of us may not want to admit though. It was Willian who came top of the poll with 100% of the votes. From that I can conclude that it was only me that voted. Great to see the Brazilian clean up in a poll for once though. Willian’s 32nd minute goal, was also the first and only goal for a Chelsea player.

Once that poll was done and dusted, attention moved onto the infamous Man-of-the-Match poll. During the game we run our Match Day Moments article, giving Vital Chelsea members the chance to air their views in real time during the actual match itself. Having scanned the comments, there was not much love for the winner of the poll.

It was Alvaro Morata who came top with 51%. Go figure. For me Morata is good enough to be a top striker at Chelsea. However, at the moment, he looks like a rabbit trapped in the headlights, like a little boy lost. He looks about to burst into tears at any moment. Something is wrong, so he needs time out of the headlights.

The more experienced Giroud should have played yesterday. It`s the Frenchman who has to start this weekend at City. He absolutely has to. Morata was not yesterday`s MOTM, Willian was. It wasn`t even close. He polled 3%.
