One midfielder who hasn`t had the best of luck when it comes to his Chelsea career is the Dutchman Marco Van Ginkel.

After a promising start the midfielder, still only 22-years of age, picked up a bad injury and when he was fully recovered he became one of many to be farmed out on loan.

However, whilst out on loan life has not been without its problems and the suggestion is that his form hasn`t been sufficient enough to see him compete for a place in Chelsea`s squad.

The suggestion doing the rounds this morning, in a European news vehicle, is that Van Ginkel could be heading back to the Premier League, albeit on loan.

It seems that the north-east rivals, Sunderland and Newcastle United, are looking to secure his services.

Here at Vital Chelsea that option appears, to us, to be one that would suit all concerned. Van Ginkel would get regular first-team football and Chelsea would be able to, closely, monitor the players progress with a view to making a permanent decision about his future next summer.
