Was Mourinho Economical with the Truth?

On Sunday, as we celebrated yet another win over Manchester United, making it three victories and no defeats during Jose Mourinho`s return to Stamford Bridge as the Manchester United manager, we covered what Antonio Conte had said about the win.

We left what Jose Mourinho had to say until today!

Following the 1-0 win, Jose seemed to have viewed a different game to you and I, with our former boss remarking to the media,

‘It was an even match. Both teams could win. The first to score would be in more defensive control and to win the match.

‘The first half was really even. In the second half in the only period where they were on top of the game, they scored.

‘It frustrates us to concede a goal in this situation. We lost ourselves after the goal emotionally. We found again the balance and desire in the last 15 to 20 minutes. It was all us. We had big chances to equalise but we couldn’t.’

To me Jose seems to be being a little economical with the truth in his second sentence, the period he mentions where Chelsea bossed the game wasn`t a fleeting period, it was the last fifteen minutes of the first half and the first twenty-five minutes of the second half.

I guess it hurt for Jose to lose for the third time on the bounce at Stamford Bridge and see his plans fail to come to fruition.
