Does anyone really know just what’s going on at Stamford Bridge with regards to the managerial hot-seat?
The reason we ask is if you’ve been following the long trail of media speculation relating to the post then you’d have expected Maurizio Sarri to be in position by now.
But it hasn’t worked out that way has it!
Instead, with those players who were not on World Cup duty returning to Cobham, for pre-season training, they were greeted by the smiling face of Antonio Conte and his managerial team.
So, just what is happening?
Are Chelsea going through the motions and stringing Conte along whilst the finishing touches are put to the deal Sarri might be signing?
Or, is, as the news source the Mirror, are insisting, Conte staying to see out the last year of his contract.
It does seem a strange turn of events with, once again, the Chelsea support left to play a guessing game.
Surely, if Conte wasn’t going to be in charge for the coming season the axe would have swung by now, or, instead of the clinical way in which we’re used to seeing Chelsea deal with such matters, are the club dithering?
Here at Vital Chelsea, we’d be interested to read your views in our comments facility beneath this article.
