Well That’s One Top-Class Boss Who Won’t Be Replacing Sarri

|

With there being a degree of uncertainty with regards to the long-term future of the current incumbent of the Chelsea managerial hot-seat, Maurizio Sarri, one possible scenario was blown out of the water yesterday afternoon.

The speculation linking the Frenchman, Zinedine Zidane, with a move to Stamford Bridge was ended in spectacular fashion when it was announced that Zidane had put pen-to-paper, on a contract, at the Bernabeu as reported by our associates at the Independent, Zidane returns to Real Madrid to resume a managerial career that saw him win the Champions League three times with Real Madrid before the Spanish giants fell spectacularly from grace this season.

Naturally, in re-joining Real Madrid, Zidane has been promised the world by their president, Florentino Perez, which includes a reported £300 million transfer kitty to stop the rot at the Bernabeu and turn the club back into giants of not only the Spanish game but also the European game.

Perhaps, if you compare that with what Chelsea had to offer, most notably a two-window transfer ban, it’s clear to see that Zidane felt he would be better off at the devil he knows, that’s if the speculation was anything more than just that, speculation.
