In the third of our ongoing series we ask the Arsenal Vital editor ten pertinent questions.

In the third of our ongoing series we ask the Arsenal Vital editor ten pertinent questions.

1. Has your season gone as expected?

A resounding NO. Maybe it’s because we’ve been spoiled with our Premiership
football and let down by our Champion’s League campaigns over the past eight or so seasons, but I always expect to be challenging for the Premiership and complete failure in the Champion’s League. If someone would have told me at the beginning of the season that Sp*rs would be above us with three games to go and we would be on the verge of the Champion’s League final the I wouldn’t have even bothered talking to them. It’s a funny old game.

2. What changes would you like to see made?

I think Arsene Wenger is ‘trying’ to implement all the changes that I’d like to see. The way the season started with the surprise sale of Patrick Vieira was just the beginning of all the shocks we had coming to us this season. This season alone we have lost more away games than the last three seasons combined, if we rectify this (and we will) we’ll be back up there next season. That is the biggest change needed.

3. Do you admire the way Mourinho has managed Chelsea?

I probably admire Mourinho as much as you lot admire Wenger. You know that his record with regards to success is outstanding, but you just can’t bring yourself to like the guy. Also, I’m not a big admirer of his football. Yes it does get results, but it’s not pretty to watch.

4. Select a mixed Chelsea / Arsenal XI (Ratio 6:5 or 5:6)

Cech, Lauren, Terry, Toure, Cole, Lampard, Fabregas, Makelele, Hleb, Cole, Henry

NB: I only chose Cech over Lehmann because it had to be 5:6 Ratio

5. Who would you prefer to sign – Terry or Lampard?

Terry. I think Lampard is the better player but if we brought him in then Fabregas would lose out, and I feel Cesc will become a better player than Lampard in the long run. Plus we’re lacking in the centre back role.

6. What would it mean to you for Spurs to qualify for the Champions League instead of you?

Twelve months of abuse from the unwashed. It’s something I don’t need to think about just yet. Next.

7. Should Abramovich speak out more or is the silent way the best?

It all depends on his football knowledge. If he’s just a money-man (which is probably why he keeps his gob shut) then he’s going to sound like an idiot trying to wax lyrical on a subject he knows little about.

8. Is our bad media image a result of being successful?

Nope. It?s bad because of the way your club has conducted itself at times. I realise this is the pot calling the kettle black, but it’s you asking the questions and me answering.

9. Facilities – Highbury or Stamford Bridge?

Having never been to the Bridge I’d have to say Highbury. But if your away fan ticket prices are anything to go by, I’d have to re-mortgage just to indulge myself.

10. Biggest gripe about Chelsea?

You’re Premiership champions. Make no bones about it, we want our trophy back.

Our thanks go to the Arsenal Vital editor for taking the time out to take part in our quest to discover just what the Premiership really thinks of us.
