I`ve been reading some of the Falcao to Chelsea rumours, and on another site, I marvelled at a comment from a fan, who said, “If Roman hadn`t spent $50 million on Torres, we could`ve had Falcao.”

This profound thought made me think “what if?” So I ask you to roll back time to January 2011, and let us try to rewrite history.

January 2011

Fernando Torres asks for a transfer request to CFC, but Liverpool says no. Torres and Suarez, inspired by King Kenny, go on a scoring rampage. Liverpool makes it to the Europa final, but loses to Porto in a thrilling shoot out. They finish 5th in the league.

Chelsea FC, having run out of time to sign a new striker, welcomes David Luiz, who is an instant sensation. Drogba, citing malaria symptoms, looks unmotivated on the pitch, but Luiz performs a faith healing, and the team grinds out a 3rd place finish.

Carlo Ancelloti gets sacked.

Fall -Winter 2011

Roman hires Andres Villa Boas, who begs Porto to sell Radamel Falcao to his new club. Falcao hands in a transfer request, and Roman pays 50 million on transfer deadline day.

Fernando Torres is sold to Juventus, and Liverpool fans give him a hero`s sending off. He will go on to win the Serie A Golden Boot and league trophy.

Torres sends endless texts to Spanish player Juan Mata, who joins him at Juventus. Mata will double his value within 2 years (or triple for certain special clubs).

Falcao scores a hat trick on his debut at Stamford Bridge. The media focuses on a murderous looking Drogba sitting on the bench.

While Drogba prepares for Africa cup, Star publishes photos of a shivering Falcao wrapped in a snood at Cobham, with caption: “Falcao`s wife says, Barcelona or Bust!”

Falcao and Ferdinand engage in a famous hair pulling incident at Old Tradford. The Chelsea player receives a red card, and Sir Alex states at a post-match interview, that he did not see Ferdinand choke the striker.

Drogba gets his starting place back, and then goes crazy scoring goals and dominating the CL campaign.

Spring 2012

Chelsea wins the FA cup and finishes 5th place in the league.

Falcao scores the winning goal in the final minutes of the CL semi-final in Barcelona. In the ensuing celebration, David Luiz steps on Falcao`s toe, and the striker is ruled out of the CL final.

In Munich, Chelsea puts up a rock hard defence, but in the end, Thomas Muller is hailed the 1 goal hero. AVB is sacked.

Harry Redknapp, talking to reporters about Tottenham`s upcoming CL campaign, mentions that Falcao is an interesting player?
