Back in 2010, many of you may remember a midfielder who captained the Chelsea Youth side to the FA Youth Cup, a competition that the Chelsea youngsters have done remarkably well in recently.

Clifford, a Dubliner by birth, was tipped to be the next Frank Lampard, with the youngster displaying all the traits that made Lampard a Chelsea legend.

However, despite all that early promise, Clifford didn`t make the breakthrough many thought he would and his career saw him, whilst at Chelsea, loaned to a host of clubs, including:

? Plymouth Argyle
? Notts County
? Yeovil Town
? Portsmouth
? Crawley Town

Before he left Chelsea in a permanent deal that saw him join Leicester City.

Clifford failed to make an appearance for Leicester and was sold to Southend United.

Since then Clifford has continued on his career journey, playing for:

? Barnet (loan)
? Boreham Wood

Currently, Connor is on the books of Dundalk in Ireland. Aged just 26, Clifford is another who spent time in the Chelsea system, showed extreme promise but, sadly, didn`t make the breakthrough many thought he would.
