On Tuesday evening, up in the north-east, Newcastle United beat Preston North End 4-1.

The victory ensured that Newcastle, managed by a certain Rafael Benitez, will be playing Premier League football next season.

But, Newcastle need to make a decision about a player they have had on a season long loan deal, from Chelsea.

After season-long loan periods at Everton and Bournemouth, Christian Atsu showed glimpses of the enormous talent he possesses, as he played his part in Newcastle making an immediate return to the top-flight.

But, according to the news vehicle ESPN, ESPN, Newcastle now have a decision to make.

Our source is reporting that the season-long loan deal carries an option whereby Newcastle can make the loan move permanent.

However, if they do wish to sign the 25-year-old midfielder, they must do so within one-week of the season ending, with the fee being set at a very reasonable £6.5 million.

It remains to be seen which way this one goes, but here at Vital Chelsea we`ll endeavour to keep an eye on proceedings.
