Today is another day over in Brazil and if it`s as exciting and dramatic football-wise, as the one we experienced yesterday then we really are in for a treat.

Yesterday, in the last sixteen stage we were treated t a thrilling comeback from the Dutch who overcame a gallant Mexico side, 2-1, with the former blue Arjen Robben providing the spark the Dutch needed to instigate a late comeback.

In the other fixture Costa Rica, who topped England`s group, overcame Greece in a penalty shoot-out after the Greek side had equalized in stoppage time.

Today, on the menu, we have,

– France v Nigeria (17:00 UK time)
– Germany v Algeria (21:00 UK time)

The French side, managed by the former blue Didier Deschamps; have gone about their business in spectacular fashion and could be one of the sides to watch. However, Nigeria will certainly give the French a decent game and this is a tie that could be as close as all the others we`ve witnessed so far in the knockout stages.

The later fixture sees Germany (let`s hope Andre Schurrle gets a start) also engage with African opposition, taking on an Algerian side who surpassed all expectations to climb out of the group stages, but can they topple the efficient and effective Germans?
