Between now and the end of the season, as Football League clubs inevitably come knocking on our door, we expect a whole host of our exciting crop of youngsters to go out on loan.

The chance to see how these promising youngsters progress in a more physical environment whilst also getting regular football is a good opportunity for those who coach them down at the Academy at Cobham.

This afternoon, it has been announced that the captain of our U21 side has been loaned out to the League One side, Gillingham.

Jordan Houghton, just 19-years-of-age, is at the stage of his career where his potential needs to be assessed and Gillingham seems the ideal placement for the promising midfielder.

The loan spell agreed between the two clubs is until 3rd January 2016.

Here at Vital Chelsea we`d like to take this opportunity to wish Jordan all the best during his loan period.
