Chelsea only managed a draw in the game game against Atletico Madrid, but with qualification for the knockout stages of the Champions League assured, that result didn`t matter too much.

As ever following the game, we gave you the chance to decide who you believed to have put in the best performance on the pitch. The whole of playing squad were at your disposal, but, despite having fourteen players to chose from, only four featured in the voting.

Not unsurprisingly heading the field was Eden Hazard whose performance was deemed to be the best on the night. It was a choice that was difficult to argue against. Hazard polled 75% of the votes.

Coming in second place was Tiemoue Bakayoko who was Antonio Conte`s first substitution of the night, as the manager pushed to find an equaliser. Baka received 15% of the popular vote. There can be no doubting the big Frenchman`s commitment to the cause, at the moment he just lacks that cutting edge, however there`s plenty of time for that.

The only other two players to make the cut were Gary Cahill and Michy Batshuayi who each received 5% of the overall voting. Make of that, what you will.

Our current front page poll asks who you would make your first pick in Chelsea`s starting eleven, as we try to establish what the Vital Chelsea readerships strongest XI is. In order to make it more comprehensive, we’ll drop the winner, before polling the remaining candidates again. The other positions will follow between the usual matchday polls.

All we ask, is that you use your vote wisely.
