Transfer speculation in the media this morning is linking Chelsea with a move for an interesting target.

According to the good folk of the popular red-top publication, the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are considering making a move for Wilfried Zaha.

Zaha, 25-years-of-age, has been the star performer in what has been a difficult start to the season for his club, Crystal Palace.

Our source is inferring that the North London duo of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal were interested in the player but that Chelsea are now the main contenders for his signature.

It`s not believed that a deal can be struck this January, more likely if it does happen it will be in the summer transfer window of 2018.

Zaha is in his second spell with Crystal Palace having left the South London club for a spell with Manchester United.

The player was the last big signing made by Sir Alex Ferguson but had trouble settling and didn`t make the most of what seemed like a splendid opportunity.

Now a couple of years older and wiser perhaps this summer is the time for Zaha to make that move to a big club and become the success his skills suggest he is capable of being.

  • Yes he is a very good player that can help our club. But if we acquire him, we need to give him to compete with others. Robie Fowler said something yesterday that bothers me a lot. He said that many former Chelsea players are currently making waves in the PL is a testimony to the fact that we acquire players just to prevent other clubs from doings so. In other words, we don?t have future plan for them. Although I do not totally agree with the assertion, there might be some element of truth. Our argument has been that the players were not patient enough. But we don?t give them enough playing time. If KDB could displace the like of Yaya Toure, who in Chelsea could he not compete with? The fact is that we did not allow for adequate competition. It is getting better now with Conte and I hope we support him as he rotates his squad.

  • Better than Willian and he is Home Grown. His end product is bad and ball retention is also poor. Hope Conte improves.
