With Michael Emenalo having left Stamford Bridge, speculation is rife as to who will fill the void.

Already this week the name of Frank Lampard has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the technical director role.

Today, another familiar name is being mentioned as a possible candidate for the role.

Our associates at the popular tabloid publication The Sun, have put the legend that is Gianfranco Zola in the frame.

According to our source, Zola, now 51-years-of-age, is on a short-list for the role which will see the successful candidate report to or chief executive Marina Granovskaia instead of Roman Abramovich.

Our source further points out that Zola is seen as the ideal person to smooth the frosty relationship between Antonio Conte and Granovskaia.

Could Zola, who spent seven years at Stamford Bridge be heading back to Stamford Bridge?
