A Chance For Another Chelsea Player To Make A Huge Impact Away From Stamford Bridge

|

This weekend the Premier League resumes after the conclusion of the second international break of the 2020 / 2021 season.

For me, it is something that cannot come quickly after, I have always been unmoved by the media fest that greets the international breaks finding them dull and boring.

This Saturday, Chelsea welcome Southampton, to Stamford Bridge, for a fixture that the support are hoping we win.

However, on Sunday, there is another fixture that I will be keeping an eye on.

Our local rivals, Fulham, make the trip north to take on Sheffield United.

It is a game that could very well see the Fulham debut of Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Loftus-Cheek, who was finding it hard to break into Frank Lampard’s starting eleven this season, has joined the Cottagers on a season-long loan spell with the intention of getting regular first-team football.

Ahead of the deal, here at Vital Chelsea, we used our poll facility to gauge your reaction to the move by asking the simple question:

Should Chelsea Send Loftus-Cheek Out On Loan This Season?

The result showed that 79% of you thought it was the right thing to do while the remaining 21% believed he should have stayed with Chelsea.

But, casting an eye down the Fulham Road, I will be watching with interest to see how Ruben does under the managerial acumen of Scott Parker.

It will be particularly interesting to see if Ruben can remain injury-free, something he has found hard to do at Stamford Bridge.

It will also be interesting to see if he gets enough football and progresses enough to regain his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad, even more so with the Euro 2020 Championships rescheduled for next summer.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we would like to wish Ruben all the best playing for our little brother down the road and we hope his career flourishes in preparation for a return to Stamford Bridge next season.

Chelsea v Southampton?

Chelsea to Win!

Southampton to Win!

A Draw!
