Mata, Lukaku, Kaka, Neymar… it goes on.
How much are we thinking of paying for these players? And how well will they adapt to the Premiership?
A couple of weeks ago I came across a player who could be cheap to get this summer and turn into a real star for us. Today, after keeping an eye on Soccer Saturday, a Wigan player has again showed some incredible promise.
At just 24 years old! (until the end of May), Charles N’Zogbia looks like a perfect addition to our squad.
With Slow-Mo-Flo-Mo (copyright OLASAL!) looking certain to depart and about to hit 31 (in June), N’Zogbia looks a very easy replacement.
If Wigan go down next weekend then the price for this player will not be ridiculously high. We could possibly get up to £5mil for Malouda and all that money could go towards N’Zogbia who could be available for around £7mil.
His contract ends next season and this January window just passed, a bid of £9million by Birmingham was accepted by Wigan. Clearly 6 months later and with a possible relegation, we could get him even cheaper.
Admittedly he’s a bit temperamental. But he has shown the ability to change a game almost on his own. With better pace and more guts to take players on than Malouda, then N’Zogbia could link up better with Ashley and our front men.
It’s perhaps a slightly different target than we’re used to. Perhaps some members on here have already pondered the Frenchman in Chelsea Blue.
All I know is, if he’s anything like Valencia after a move away from Wigan to a top club, then yes please!
