To say the appointment of Jose Mourinho was long-waited would be a bit of an understatement but it has finally been confirmed and we can now all look forward to the antics of one of football’s more colourful managers.

The 2013-2014 Premier League season is shaping up to be a completely different league to last season with an incredible eight managers thus far confirmed to be moving into new offices.

This overhaul is sure to add a fresh dynamic to the league with the loss of the omnipresent stalwart Ferguson a glittering example that we are entering a new era in terms of English football.

The idea of a league boasting 3 of the most outspoken managers in world football is mouth watering. In Mourinho, Di Canio and Hollaway we are guaranteed at least a dozen controversial press conference comments as well as passionate touchline antics.

One thing is for certain, there isn’t likely to be a dull moment with any of this particular trio involved. I am anticipating a far more competitive league at the top with Chelsea fighting the Manchester clubs for the title.

The battle for the elusive 4th place is likely to be fought between Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool whereas Newcastle and Everton are likely to offer serious competition to the leading pack.

Whilst at the bottom of the table I am predicting a difficult season for both Hull and Crystal Palace unless serious money is spent on improving their squad, I am also in the belief that Stoke may live to regret the shameful sacking of Tony Pulis and that the introduction of an unfamiliar system may fuel their downfall.

As a whole the upcoming season promises to be full of excitement for everyone involved- particularly if you’re a Chelsea fan!
