An Unbelievable Situation!

Down at Stamford Bridge we`ve a reputation as a club with a high turnover of managers.

Okay, it may not be an ideal situation but when you look at the trophy count, in recent years`, it`s a ploy that has paid dividends.

However, the manner in which some of our managers have been sacked, in particular Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto Di Matteo, has left a nasty taste in the mouth, but I doubt whether we`ve ever stooped as low as Brighton and Hove Albion with the sacking of the former Chelsea favourite, Gus Poyet.

Poyet, who steered Brighton to the Championship play-offs before losing to Crystal Palace, was offering his words of wisdom on the Spain v Nigeria match last night, in the Confederations Cup, when the BBC broke the news to him that he`d been sacked as the manager of Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club.

Never lost for words, Poyet voiced his opinion on the sacking by commenting,

“I think the BBC has a great story. A manager getting information he has been released from his employment by the BBC during a programme is quite surprising.”

“I still have had no communication, no text, no e-mail. I am probably the first one to be in this position. I think everyone can take their own conclusion about the way I have been informed.”

“The only thing I am concentrating on is appealing because it is the right thing to do.”

In a situation like this we`re not sure of the validity of an appeal, other than obtaining more severance pay, but surely those who run Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club just have to look at themselves in the mirror and ask themselves just what were they thinking of!
