A day that didn`t start too well and then got gradually worse, with Chelsea slipping to an embarrassing defeat away to Crystal Palace, did improve dramatically as the midnight hour approached.
Over at the SSE Wembley Arena, the Hammersmith born and Chelsea supporting boxer, George Groves, resplendent in boxing shorts carrying our club crest, beat Jamie Cox to make a successful defence of his WBA super-middleweight belt whilst also moving into the semi-finals of the World Boxing Super Series contest.
