Saturday tea-time will see Chelsea take on Liverpool, at Anfield, in a crucial Premier League fixture.

Amongst the opposition starting eleven will be a player who was once on the books of Chelsea but, for one reason or another, didn`t make the desired impact, Mohamed Salah.

Chelsea signed Salah from Basel, in January 2014, for the sum of £11 million. However, his progress at Chelsea saw the Egyptian make just 6 Premier League starts before he was sent off on loan spells to Fiorentina and Roma before the Italian side signed him on a permanent basis.

Last summer, Salah joined Liverpool for a club record fee of £36.9 million and he has proved to be a great buy for the club, scoring 14 goals in 19 matches with his pace troubling many a defence.

On Saturday, at Anfield, Salah will be keen to prove a point to Chelsea.

Ahead of the game, Eden Hazard has spoken about Salah and the media source, the Guardian has published remarks attributed to Hazard which read,

“He is still my friend and we are still in contact.

“He`s a top, top, top player. He did not get his chance at Chelsea – maybe because of the manager, because of the other players? I don`t know.

“He has quality but in that period I remember we had me, Willian, Oscar, so for him it was not easy. But he`s a top player, for sure, and we know as a team the quality he has. He is a fantastic striker and this season he has scored a lot of goals. It is always good to play against a friend but Liverpool is not only about Salah. They have a lot of quality players.”

Will Salah get the better of Chelsea`s defence with his pace, or can Chelsea nullify the impact the Egyptian will have?

Your thoughts on the subject matter will be most appreciated.
