In the last of our polls to find the team of 2005-2006, we asked you to vote for a keeper.
It was probably the most predictable result of all the polls we?ve instigated since this sites inception, however, it had t be done and as they say, we had to go through the motions.
With a massive 68% of the vote you selectedPetr Cech as your preferred keeper for our 2005-2006. The giant Cech, who has cemented his place between the posts since his arrival from French football easily beat off the challenge of Carlo Cudicini who amassed 25% of the vote.
The likeable Italian is in the unenviable position of being a superb keeper but one who will find appearances becoming very limited as Chelsea seek to raise the bar even further next season.
Bringing up the rear was young Lenny Pidgeley who polled a respectable 7% of the vote. Respectable considering his Chelsea Premiership career has been limited to a mere one hundred minutes.
Therefore, the team for 2005-2006, as selected by you our readership, is
Cech, Ferreira, Terry, Gallas, Bridge, Makelele, Lampard, Essien, Cole, Drogba and Robben.
There will naturally be those who suggest it?s not the strongest and would make subtle changes but nevertheless it is as voted for by the majority.
