As was the case many times last season, Carlo Ancelotti played a no-nonsense game at press conferences by naming the entire team the day or two before kick-off.

Memories of Mourinho famously asking why none of the journalists had asked his team for the next game and then refusing to once asked; this over-shadowed by our arguably more successful manager (Carlo) who names the team without question.

So for the Community Shield match this Sunday, Carlo has submitted the following side:

Hilario, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Terry, A.Cole, Mikel, Essien, Lampard, Malouda, Anelka, Kalou.

Subs are yet to be named and will surely be based on late fitness tests. Carlo has confirmed the availability of Drogba and Sturridge. Turnbull will likely be the reserve goalkeeper with 4 more subs chosen from the remaining list of Carvalho, Bruma, Zhirkov, Benayoun, McEachran, Matic, Mancienne and Kakuta.

The argument surrounding goalkeepers is clear, Hilario is favoured ahead of Turnbull.

On a side note I find it interesting that we will continue to use Iva at CB with Ferreira on the right. I don’t believe Paulo to be up to the job anymore and Riccy could do a better job with Iva on his right.

With 6 substitutes available from the named 7, it would be useful to freshen the team in the second half with new faces and legs allowing a brief rest for those already gearing up for the opening Premier League fixture at home to the Baggies.
