Chelsea – Cloned!

Earlier I submitted an article on a subject, I do try to find something else to write about some times, of the Ideal footballer. Merlin retorted in the comments box about cloning.

Some suggestions of his immediately followed which of course needed an article on its own.

Dolly is here, an American lady had here pitbull cloned in South Korea the other week in the news. Only a few feeble rules of ethics have stopped American scientists from playing god. Human cloning is on its way, I am for one terrified of the ramifications of that.

Still, I want us to indulge in a small mind, fantasy game on the subject.

If we were to clone the ideal Chelsea player from our squad of today, outplayer or goalkeeper. How would he look and what would be the qualities we would take from different players.

So here is my clone Chelsea player. He will have short legs.

I would take the feet, the feel for the ball from Deco.

I would take the footballing mind from Ballack.

I would take the heart from John Terry.

I would take the ability to suck down a ball from Drogba.

I would take the physique of Essien.

I would take the heading abilities from Ballack.

I would take the speed from Bosingwa.

I would take the courage from Cech.

I would take the lungs from Lampard.

And had Maka been with us, I would have chosen his smile.

I would call him Dino.
