The squad are heading for their pre-season tour, at this moment in time.
Although we shouldn`t make too much of the pre-season results it has to be said that there are some attractive looking fixtures on the menu.
However, Chelsea will arrive in China and Singapore still looking for a new striker, with Diego Costa not on the plane but, seemingly, out in Brazil parading around in an Atletico Madrid shirt.
Another missing from the tour party is Nemanja Matic, another who wants, for some strange reason, out of Chelsea, but where to remains an answered question.
There are also two more of the first team squad not travelling, but for far more legitimate reasons.
It has been decided that our new £40 million signing, the midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, would be better served remaining at Cobham to continue his recovery from the minor knee surgery he had before joining Chelsea Football Club.
Also back at Cobham will be Eden Hazard, with the Belgian international continuing his recovery from the fractured ankle he picked up whilst training with his international colleague. However, Eden`s progress continues to be on track with all plaster casts and support now removed from the damaged ankle.
