After one season away from Stamford Bridge, I`m probably not alone in hoping that our captain, leader and legend, John Terry, might make an emotional return to the club this summer.

Now obviously it wouldn`t be as a player, at 37-years-of-age it`s fair to say that JT`s time in our famous blue shirt is over, but as part of the coaching team.

However, it seems those thoughts might just be wishful thinking.

According to the local media in Birmingham, the Birmingham Mail, it seems that JT is set to stay with Aston Villa.

Our referenced source, carries the insinuation from the Aston Villa director of football, Steve Round, JT fancies at least another season at Villa Park.

Although JT has missed a part of the 2017 / 2018 season with Aston Villa courtesy of a foot injury, his presence, when fit, in the side has been most welcome and very much appreciated.

Aston Villa are hoping that their season culminates in a place in the Championship play-offs, with a place in the Premier League at stake.

If the Villains can make a return to the Premier League, JT obviously feels he can contribute both on and off the pitch, although whether he`d play against Chelsea remains a debatable subject.

Perhaps, the coaching role, we dream of JT taking, might just have to be put on hold until the start of the 2019 / 2020 season
