So far, this transfer window, apart from the signing of Ross Barkley, will be remembered for the club being linked with some very unlikely purchases.

Already, such jaw-dropping (in disbelief) names as Andy Carroll and Peter Crouch have been mentioned as possible acquisitions, as Chelsea seek to add a striker to the squad.

Today, we could quite possibly add a third to that list.

According to, The Sun, Chelsea are looking towards Leicester City hoping to brig another of their squad, following in the footsteps of Kante and Drinkwater to the club.

But whilst many here on Vital Chelsea would like to see Mahrez or Vardy brought to the club, they are not, I`m afraid, the targets.

Instead, the player Chelsea are, according to our referenced source, being linked with is Islam Slimani, a 29-year-old Algerian international.

Our source reckons Chelsea want to loan the player for the remainder of this season but Leicester aren`t interested in such a deal, instead they want to sell the player on a permanent deal.

Slimani, following in the steps of Carroll and Couch?
