Yesterday afternoon (Friday), the news broke that Chelsea are carrying out investigations related to two ex-coaches.

The allegations have been made by three former youth team players who have stated they were racially abused back in the 1990`s.

According to the news that broke, the two former coaches involved are Graham Rix and Gwyn Williams.

The duo have, in a statement from their lawyers, denied “all and any allegations of racial and other abuse.”.

However, due to the nature of the allegations, the club are duty bound to investigate and the club has issued a statement that was read out at the pre-match press conference which read,

‘We are absolutely determined to do the right thing, to fully support those affected, assist the authorities and support their investigations.’

Here at Vital Chelsea we don`t condone racism in any shape and form and we hope the investigation serves its purpose, however, with the allegations having been made relating to a bygone era, it`s hard to see how the current administration at Stamford Bridge can be expected to be held responsible for such behaviour.
