Chelsea Seeking New Ownership If The Price Is Right

|

It’s fair to say that since Roman Abramovich took Chelsea over, lock, stock and barrel, we’ve enjoyed the success that not many clubs can match.

Our trophy cabinet has been packed with silverware from all the domestic competitions including the Champions League trophy back in 2012.

Even, last season, when we finished outside of the top four, we still won the FA Cup.

However, perhaps the Abramovich era could be coming to an end.

With our owner having had trouble obtaining a UK visa, he has been unable to enter the country to watch Chelsea, with it, seemingly being the governments’ intention to play hardball when it comes to UK-Russian relationships.

There’s also the small matter of Chelsea deciding that they’re not, in the immediate future, prepared to go ahead with the building of the new Stamford Bridge.

Those two acts alone are a reason to think that, perhaps, Roman is considering moving on.

Now, we may be right, or we may be wrong in our thinking, but perhaps new ownership is very much on the horizon when you read in the news source, Bloomberg, that Roman wants at least £3 billion to sell the club.

If that is the case and a buyer steps forward, we can only hope that a new benefactor has the same drive and ambition Roman showed, to keep our club at the forefront of European football.
