Chelsea Send Another Quartet Of Youngsters Off On Loan

|

The past week, or so, has seen Chelsea remain very active when it comes to loaning players out.

As in the past couple of seasons, we fully expect the number of Chelsea players to be loaned out this summer to be around the thirty mark.

This week, if I’ve done my sums right, four of our exciting prospects have been given the chance to impress at a lower level of football.

First up, our 18-year-old defender, Dujon Sterling, has joined Coventry City on a season-long loan deal. During his time at Chelsea Sterling has twice won the FA Youth Cup, he was also part of the England U17 side that won the 2017 European U19 Championships.

Second up, our 18-year-old full-back, Reece James, has signed for the Championship side, Wigan Athletic, once again it is a season-long loan deal. James, during his time at Chelsea was part of the England U19 side that won the European U19 Championship in 2017 and the Toulon tournament.

Third up, our 19-year-old goalkeeper, Nathan Baxter, has joined Yeovil Town on a season-long loan deal. Previously Baxter has spent loan spells at Woking and Solihull Moors.

Lastly, Trevor Chalobah has joined Ipswich Town on a season-long loan deal. The 18-year-old, brother of Nathaniel, was part of the England side that won the U19 European Championship last summer. He has also appeared for Chelsea in the EFL Trophy and was an unused substitute in the 2018 FA Cup Final win over Manchester United.

Here at Vital Chelsea, we’ll endeavour to keep an eye on how the quartet progress during the coming season and we wish all four the best of luck.
