With less than two weeks to go until the summer transfer window closes, one media source is championing the suggestion that Chelsea are set to spend big before the window slams shut.
Th good folk of the Express are of the opinion that Chelsea will spend in the region of £200 million to bring in five new players to give Antonio Conte the squad depth he craves.
As for the names of these five new faces, our reference source lists them as:
? Danny Drinkwater (Leicester City)
? Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal)
? Virgil van Dijk (Southampton)
? Cedric Soares (Southampton)
and
? Ryan Bertrand (Southampton)
It is indeed an impressive looking list but, personally, I reckon there could be a bit of wishful thinking going on here.
Are we really expected to believe that Southampton will let Chelsea devastate their back-four, so close to the transfer window closing, by allowing three of their back-four to head towards Stamford Bridge.
My view is that out of that list of five players, we`ll possibly sign one – Danny Drinkwater.
