Chelsea Set To Spring A Striker Surprise – News And Opinion

|

Lurking in the media this morning is an interesting little piece of transfer speculation.

According to the good folk of the tabloid publication, the Mirror, there could be some movement on the striker front at Stamford Bridge.

Our source is suggesting that just a year after joining Chelsea, from Arsenal, Olivier Giroud could be leaving.

According to our referenced source, the 32-year-old Frenchman is wanted by our London rivals West Ham United.

Now, it’s hard to decipher if this news is genuine or just a piece of speculation designed to fill a few column inches.

Giroud may not be the type of striker that will get you twenty goals a season but is the type of striker who is appreciated by those around him, in the team, for his ability to bring players into the game whilst also holding the ball up.

If Chelsea would be prepared to sell Giroud in the January transfer window could it be that Maurizio Sarri has his eyes on a direct replacement and the club are of the opinion that a deal can be done to add to the front-line

If so, we can only ponder over who it might be.
