There may not be a transfer window open at the moment, but that doesn`t stop the talk and gossip-mongering that surrounds football clubs. Talk may be cheap, but it sells column inches and pageviews.

Throughout the January transfer window, we ran a nightly 10pm update as to who was rumoured to be going where. For one night only, we`re having a look around the digital world of social media and analogue world of the red top newspapers.

The first story we`re looking at features the possibility of Alvaro Morata`s friend Marco Asensio moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer. The Express are claiming that Marco Asensio has reportedly told Isco that he`ll be off to Chelsea in the summer. This story has come out of Spain via media website Don Balon, and it follows Madrid`s comfortable victory over Alaves today.

Asensio was not in the matchday squad. As ever, a closer look reveals a different story. For a start, the writer got today`s opponent wrong stating it was Deportivo. Then another trawl around, finds a story in Marca yesterday, saying Asensio missed training prior to the game having had a wisdom tooth removed.

Whilst Madrid may be reluctant to let the midfielder join Chelsea`s burgeoning Spanish contingent, and the player himself, may or may not want the move. The small matter of Eden Hazard going the other way may influence everyones opinion.

With in mind, according to reports also in The Express, they again cite Don Balon, who claim that Roman Abramovich is tabling a £15m-per-season deal for the Belgian wing wizard. However, they also believe that may not be enough to keep him in London.

It seems Chelsea are also keen to bolster their English contingent with a move for Newcastle United`s captain Jamaal Lascelles. The 24 year-old has caught the eye of the Chelsea hierarchy and despite him signing a six year contract back in October, his £50,000-a-week salary could still his head turned by a double your money offer in the summer. That according to the more reliable Simon Johnson in the Evening Standard.

Role on the the end of the season and the next window, I can`t wait to get into the trash talk.
