Chelsea`s Transfer Conundrum

As July comes close to coming to an end, we`re about to enter the magical month of August.

It`s the month whereby the new Premier League season will begin in earnest and also the month in which the summer transfer window closes shut.

After the 3-0 win over Arsenal in China, the results in Singapore haven`t gone the way we would have hoped.

A defeat to Bayern Munich, in which we started so poorly Carlo Ancelotti`s side were able to open up a 3-0 advantage inside the first twenty-six minutes, left us a mountain to climb to get anything from the game.

This afternoon, a similar lacklustre display saw Chelsea lose to Inter Milan, a side that could only finish seventh in La Liga last season.

Without the front three of Hazard, Costa and Pedro, we appeared to lack any real attacking cohesion and threat.

Naturally, there has been talk, amongst the Vital Chelsea membership, of numbers being added to what looks like a very thin squad.

Whilst it`s always pleasing to see a few youngsters involved in pre-season, it`s fair to say you don`t win nothing with kids (where have I heard that before?).

However, it seems that Antonio Conte are very aware of the predicament we face with Conte, during an interview with the media, remarking,

‘With the club we speak every day about the way to strengthen this team and the squad.”

But it seems the board and Conte are aware that the transfer market is now a difficult arena to trade in, with Conte further adding,

‘The club knows very well which is my idea and where are the positions to strengthen, and if this is possible, it is okay. If not, we continue this way.’

Those words ‘if not` concern me, how about you?
