Sat listening to the commentary during the coverage of the recent loss to Liverpool, Gary Neville came up with a comment that bemused me.
Watching David Luiz embarking on one of his surging runs, Neville thought he`d be the comedian and offer a remark that suggested anyone watching might think that the way Luiz was playing he was being controlled by a ten year old playing on his Play Station!
Now, with it being mentioned last week that the Scouse-hating Neville actually had a couple of grand-parents form that very part of the world, I`m tempted to label as one of those that thinks his Scouse heritage entitles him to think he`s funny.
But I won`t. Instead I offer up a similar scenario.
When a certain Phil Jones, from his beloved Manchester United, makes similar run sot that which Luiz embarks on, they`re classified as surging runs at the heart of the opposition defence.
Is it yet another case of anti-Chelsea bias or is Neville just a first class numpty?
