Both Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho have been speaking this afternoon about the weekends fixture between the two Premier League giants. Of course, questions arose over the recent spat the two have had this season.

The alpha-male posturing, saw Mourinho bring up old allegations made against Conte in Italy regarding match-fixing. Conte served a four-month ban whilst managing Juventus in 2012-13. He was accused of doing nothing to prevent a match-fixing scandal whilst at Siena in 2011. That according to Goal. Ultimately, Conte was acquitted.

Conte countered by calling Mourinho ‘a little man` and spoke of him suffering senile dementia at his inability to remember his own touchline antics when criticising Conte`s. At his press conference Mourinho was not up for discussing the affair, saying,

`I don’t want to speak about it, I’m not going to speak about it. That’s not the point. He’s a very good manager, a fantastic team and that’s what is important for me.`

For his part, Conte`s stance was the same. The subject was a no-go.

`In the past both of us have said things, for me it`s okay and I`m not interested about speaking about this topic.`

Asked if he`d shake Mourinho`s hand on Sunday, Conte was equally non-committal,

`I`m not interested in this.

Speaking after the draw with Barcelona the Italian compared his relationship with the club as a marriage, where both parties need to be in agreement.

To use another marital analogy, if the Chelsea FC is the mum, the manger the dad, then the supporters are surely the kids. Let`s hope, for the sake of the kids, mums current husband and ex-husband don`t kick off before the two teams do. Not in front of the children.
