During the international break, we used our poll facility to gauge your opinion on whether the re-development of Stamford Bridge would go ahead and if so where you`d prefer Chelsea`s temporary accommodation to be.

This morning the subject of the re-development of Stamford Bridge has generated more media column inches.

The good folk of The Times, are reporting that the proposed cost of the development has risen steeply.

The development, scheduled to increase the capacity at Stamford Bridge to 60,000 was estimated, originally, as costing circa £500 million.

With the plans approved by the local council and the Mayor of London, it only appeared a matter of time before the project got underway.

However, it is being implied by our reference source that the cost of the project has not only risen sharply but doubled with a figure of £1 billion now being mentioned.

If he development were to go ahead, it would make the new Stamford Bridge the most expensive ground in Europe.

£1 billion is a huge sum of money which brings me back to the age-old question as to whether it will ever get completed.

Your thoughts on the subject matter would be most welcomed in our comments facility beneath this article.
