Still a familiar figure at Chelsea`s Cobham training ground, John Terry may be about to become ever more present amongst his former teammates. This afternoon the Blues former captain fractured the metatarsal bone in his foot.

He was taken off in Aston Villa`s game against Sheffield Wednesday after 21 minutes. In a story that went under the radar, Spanish news outlet Marca reported a couple of weeks ago, that Terry was training at Cobham for one or two days a week. Marca reported that as part of the contract Terry signed when he joined the Midlands side, he was allowed to spend three days a week back in London. That would enable him to spend time with his family. To keep his fitness levels up, he trains at Cobham when he`s back there.

With a broken foot it`s unlikely that Villa will expect him to commute to and from their medical facilities when there`s a perfectly good set-up at Cobham. Whether anything was written into Terry`s contract regarding injuries remains to be seen. Following the break Villa`s manager Steve Bruce expressed his disappointment,

`John went to hospital and it looks as if he has got a broken metatarsal which is bad news for all of us. How badly he has broken it, we don’t know, but he will be out for quite some time, that’s for sure.`

`He has been immense for us during the last few months and when we analyse things tomorrow, that is when this will really hit us. The loss of key players is critical to us going forward especially your captain and John in particular.`

`Let’s hope it is not so bad. let’s hope it is only one where it is six weeks out rather than 12 weeks.`

Those quotes reported by the The Sun. JT spending more time a Cobham can only be a good thing for Chelsea`s players. Terry is seen by many as a future manager of the club that has been part of his life since he was a child.

Since his move to the Championship side Terry has adapted to the style and pace of what, is one of the toughest leagues in the world. It all adds to the experience that made him Chelsea fans` Captain, Leader and Legend, in their eyes he can do no wrong.

Here at Vital Chelsea we wish John a speedy recovery.
